This is episode number 17 of the one and only season of the original Flash Gordon television series from the 1950's. In this episode The evil Queen Credentia of the planet Diana, recently paroled by the Galaxy Council, overhears a plan to make the Sky Flash capable of traveling at the speed of light. She kidnaps Dale in order to find out the details, so that she can go back in time and change the outcome of the war she lost.

Over the Commissioner`s objections, the Galactic Counsel has released Queen Tridentia, the ruler who started the last galactic war, from prison. The president of the counsel believes the Queen is no longer a treat, not knowing of her plans to steal the plans for a spaceship that can travel faster than the speed of light, thereby going back in time to alter the course of the last war,

Subject: Now WAIT a minute..
Flash and scientists find out a way for the Sky Flash, Flash Gordon's ship, to go at light speed, therefore going back in time if they wanted to, or so it's explained in a way that I missed. Unfortunately, the queen of Leia wants to find that secret too so she can rule all of time! She captures Dale and tortures her. Flash uses the Sky Flash for his own selfish reasons (really, Flash, get over it) AND assumes the criminals will stay as they are so he can resolve this episode the way HE wants it, without making one iota bit of sense whatsoever. lol
